One of the most rewarding parts of Kylee’s Garden of Giving is getting to see where the harvest goes after it leaves the garden. 💚🌱

Seeing cucumbers, tomatoes, and zucchini that we grew turned into fresh meals for Columbia Meals on Wheels makes every hour spent planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting completely worth it.

This garden was started with one simple goal: grow what we can and give what we can. Knowing that our produce is helping provide fresh food to members of our local community is exactly why this project means so much to me.

A huge thank you to Columbia Meals on Wheels for putting these donations to such good use—and for sharing these photos! I absolutely love seeing the garden come full circle. 🥒🍅💚

Here’s to many more harvests and many more meals! 🌿

This is exactly why I always tell people: shop your insurance.

I’m currently working with a household that has been with State Farm for more than 20 years. They were paying about $5,800 per year for their auto insurance alone.

I’m writing the same household at about $3,400 per year — a savings of roughly $2,400 annually on auto insurance — and I’m also saving them money on their homeowners insurance.

One thing they didn’t realize was that a State Farm agent can only offer State Farm products. That means if the pricing changes, you’re not automatically being compared against other companies unless you shop elsewhere.

This happens to so many people.

Whether your current agency represents one carrier or 20, it is always worth reviewing your options through a few different agencies to make sure you’re getting the right coverage at a competitive price.

That’s where I can help. I’m a local AAA Insurance agent and I can shop your coverage through 20+ carriers to make the process easier for you.

If it’s been a while since you’ve reviewed your auto, home, renters, umbrella, life, or other insurance, send me a message. I’d love the opportunity to quote you and see what I can save you!

🐾 Doggy Day Out Volunteers Needed! 🐾

Our next Doggy Day Out event with the Pet Pantry of Lancaster County will be held on Tuesday, August 18 at 9:00 a.m.

We are currently looking for four more volunteers to join us! We’ll have the opportunity to spend time with the shelter dogs, provide exercise and enrichment, and give them some extra love and attention outside of their normal routine.

These events are always such a rewarding way to support the Pet Pantry and make a shelter dog’s day a little brighter. If you are available and would like to participate, please send me a message so I can get you registered and share the additional details.

Spots are limited, so please reach out as soon as possible! 🐶❤️

📢 A Public Service Reminder for Older Insurance Customers and Their Families📢

This week, I spoke with two older customers who shared that friends or family members had advised them not to switch insurance companies because of their age. They were told that a new company might refuse to insure them, drop them, or that they could somehow lose their insurance or driver’s license simply because they chose to shop around.

This is a harmful misconception.

Your age alone does not mean that you must remain with the same insurance company, and shopping for a new policy does not cause your driver’s license to be taken away. You should also never feel pressured to stay with a carrier simply because you have been insured with them for many years.

Insurance rates and eligibility are based on many factors, and every situation should be reviewed individually. Older customers have the same right to compare coverage, pricing, deductibles, and available discounts to make sure they are still receiving a policy that meets their needs.

It is important to advocate for yourself and understand how your insurance works so that fear or misinformation does not prevent you from exploring better options.

Insurance agents are licensed professionals. While friends and family may have good intentions, please verify insurance advice with a licensed agent who can review your specific circumstances and provide accurate information.

Please talk to the older adults in your life. Make sure they are not remaining with an insurance company solely because someone told them their age prevents them from shopping. They deserve accurate information, appropriate coverage, and the opportunity to make an informed decision.

Please share!!! 🐾❤

I still have a few volunteer spots open for my next Doggie Day Out this Saturday, July 25 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pet Pantry of Lancaster County, located off Columbia Avenue!

Doggie Day Out is a great morning spent getting adoptable shelter dogs out for a pack walk while giving them exercise, enrichment, fresh air, and lots of love. The experience usually lasts between one and two hours, depending on the pack and how much time we want to spend with the dogs.

When you arrive, you will be paired with a dog who will be your buddy for the day. You will take your dog in your vehicle and follow the group to the park, where we will all walk together.

It is such a fulfilling way to spend your morning and give love and attention to animals who may not get to experience it every day.

All volunteers must be over the age of 12, and any children participating must be accompanied by an adult.

If you are free Saturday morning and would like to join us, please send me a message and I’ll get you all the details!

🐾New Pup on the Block: Adopt Stormie!

This stunning black German Shepherd is one year old, spayed, and ready for adoption! She has proved to be social with a number of Pet Pantry pups and neutral about dogs out on the walk.

Stormie comes from a home with multiple young children and has done well with all of the humans she has met. She was surrendered because her family did not have the time to give her the attention she deserves.

She is looking for a cat-free home where she will get exercise and continued socialization that will help her continue to thrive.

If you think that might be you, please fill out an adoption application: https://petpantrylc.org/rescue/adoption-application/

If you don't have room for Stormie, but still want to help, please give this post a share!
