The forecast looked fine this morning… and then Pennsylvania weather decided otherwise.

Pop-up storms can bring heavy rain, strong winds, hail and falling branches with very little warning. If a storm damages your home, knowing what to do next can make an already stressful situation easier to handle.

After the storm:
• Make sure everyone is safe first
• Stay away from downed power lines and unsafe areas
• Take photos and video of visible damage
• Take reasonable steps to prevent additional damage when it’s safe to do so
• Keep receipts for temporary repairs or related expenses
• Contact your insurance company to report the damage and discuss next steps

And don't wait for storm clouds to appear to understand your home insurance. Knowing your coverage before you need it is always a good idea.
