As we move into fall and eventually into winter, the risk of heavy El Niño rain and flooding increases.

Here are a few simple tips that can help protect your home:
• Clear gutters and drains – Remove leaves and debris so rainwater can flow away from your home.
• Check your roof – Look for damaged or missing shingles, leaks, or other areas that may need attention before the first major storm.
• Inspect your property – Check drainage around your home, trim trees and branches, and secure outdoor items that could be affected by storms.
• Know your flood risk – Flooding can happen outside of designated high-risk flood zones, especially during periods of heavy rainfall.

Remember, standard home insurance does not cover flooding. If you don't currently have flood insurance, we can help you explore some options to keep your home protected!
