In response to a drought disaster declaration issued Aug. 18 by Gov. Kelly Armstrong, the State Water Commission reactivated the Drought Disaster Livestock Water Supply Project Assistance Program, providing $2 million in State Water Commission funding for eligible projects. The program, which was last activated in 2021, is intended to help producers address livestock water supply needs resulting from drought conditions and strengthen infrastructure to improve resiliency during future periods of drought.
