Employee Spotlight
Ruthanne has dedicated her life to serving her community. As a child, she volunteered for Paint Tacoma Beautiful and other community organizations. As she became a Jr. Youth (12-14), she started coordinating activities for Bahá’í Youth in Pierce County. As a youth (15-21) she performed and taught dances about social issues, coordinated state wide service projects for youth, and planned a national youth congress. Entering college provided a whole new opportunity for service. She found herself in the role of the Chair of Membership (secretary) of the Student Government. She enjoyed welcoming new students, providing a means of communication between the students and administration, and coordinating student activities. As she has come into her own, she has found a passion for tutoring Ruhi Study Circles because of their potential to transform her community one heart at a time by training individuals to find their own paths of service.
Throughout Ruthanne’s professional life she has worked closely with customers. Starting at the age of 17, she entered the work world at a local movie theater. In college she had several retail jobs and also worked in various departments of her college. From the counseling office, to the Library, to the General Education Department and finally as an assistant to the Registrar she experienced a wide range of office tasks. Upon graduation, she entered her first “real” job as a showroom assistant at 3 Day Blinds. She then moved on to assisting her mother in law open an antique shop and after that worked as an administrative assistant to a Chiropractor until she had her first child.
Ruthanne graduated from Herndon High School in 1999 (yes that dates her). She went on to finish college in 2007 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the International Academy of Design and Technology. In 2010 she embarked on a journey to completing her Masters of Arts in Education at Antioch University. She completed her Masters in December 2012 with a thesis on Integrating the Arts and Sciences.
Today Ruthanne is enjoying being a mother to her two beautiful daughters—Luna and Liberty. At almost 3 years old and 9 months, they are a handful, but worth every moment. She embarked on starting TwinStars, so she could provide the time AND resources her children need from her.
