E-bikes, scooters and other motorized devices are growing in popularity — and with that comes a reminder to know where they can and cannot be used in Lakeville.
Under City ordinance, certain motorized vehicles and devices are not allowed on sidewalks, trails or other public areas unless specifically permitted. That includes things like motorized scooters, mini-bikes, go-karts and similar devices. E-bikes may be allowed in some areas depending on the type and how they are being used, but riders are still expected to follow traffic laws, ride safely and be respectful of pedestrians and other trail users.
Please remember: sidewalks and trails are shared spaces, not personal racetracks — even if your e-bike does make you feel like you’re in the Tour de France. 🚴♀️💨🤣
Help keep Lakeville safe and enjoyable for everyone by slowing down, yielding to pedestrians, watching for children and pets, and knowing the rules before you ride.
When in doubt, slow down and share the path.
