We finally made it to Spring!! 🌷 With that also comes melting snow, spring rains, and hello potential claims 🌧️🏡

Before things get messy, here are a few quick things to check around your home to help avoid those not-so-fun insurance claims:

✔️ Check your sump pump – Make sure it’s working before you actually need it
✔️ Clean out gutters & downspouts – Keep water flowing away from your foundation
✔️ Inspect your roof – Winter can be rough… missing shingles = future problems
✔️ Look for cracks in your foundation – Small now, BIG later
✔️ Check hoses & outdoor faucets – Freeze damage loves to surprise you in spring
✔️ Trim trees & branches – Especially anything hanging over your house or garage

A little preventative work now can save you from a major headache (and claim) later 🙌

Because the only thing you should be dealing with this spring is what patio you’re sitting on… not calling your insurance agent 😉

❄️ Blizzard Reminder from Your Insurance Team ❄️

Looks like a blizzard is headed our way. If you don’t have to travel, please stay home 🙏🏼 But if you must be on the roads, please take a few extra precautions:

🚗 Slow down and give yourself extra stopping distance
🚗 Keep headlights on and watch for low visibility/whiteout conditions
🚗 Pack an emergency kit (blanket, phone charger, water, snacks)
🚗 Make sure your gas tank is at least half full
🚗 Make sure to have your cellphone charged and let someone know where you’re headed and when you should arrive

Winter weather can change quickly. Your safety always comes first.

🔥 Space Heaters: Small but Mighty (and Risky!) 🔥

As temps drop, space heaters become a go-to for staying warm—but they’re also one of the leading causes of home fires in the fall/winter.

⚠️ Here are a few quick tips for when you get ready to start using your heaters:

• Keep them at least 3 feet away from anything flammable.

• Never leave them running unattended (especially while sleeping).

• Plug directly into the wall—no extension cords.

• Look for automatic shut-off features in case they tip over.

A little caution goes a long way in keeping your home (and your insurance premiums!) safe.
