Clients turning 60 often ask me, “Have I saved enough?” Fair question. But the calendar deserves a seat at the table, too.
Under current law, someone turning 60 in 2026 is generally in the age-75 RMD cohort. The years before required distributions may create room to coordinate withdrawals, Roth conversions and Social Security instead of letting a tax return explain everything after the fact. Tax returns are excellent historians. Futurists? Not so much.
