Since we had the "Texas Blizzard" I am seeing some changes come from Insurance Companies regarding your Home Insurance. There are a few "additional" questions your Insurance may ask as you renew or write a new policy.
1. What is the AGE and TYPE of your Roof. Due to the claims process regarding Roofing, this is VERY important. The AGE of your Roof may determine how a roof claim will be calculated.
2. What TYPE of plumbing pipes does your home have and how old are they. (original or updated and if so, when)
3. What type of HEATING do you have and what is the AGE of your Unit.
4. Year of your Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Roof are required and if they've been updated, provide year. This will also add credit into your rate.
If you are BUYING a Home, ask to see the Seller's Disclosure Statement for this information. If this is NOT listed, ask your Realtor to inquire with seller for this information as you will need it for your new policy.

As we head in to Fall it is time for some Home maintenance.
1. Trim tree branches away from your roof, gutters and siding.
2. Turn heat on now to make sure it is working properly before it gets cold.
3. If you had any hail in your area and have not submitted a claim for potential damage, call your AGENT to discuss your policy coverage and options.
4. Check your windows and door for heat cracked stripping.
5. Get your outdoor pipe coverings now before the cold weather rush.
6. Clean your gutters from leaves and debris.
7. Check your fireplace for debris and have the chimney cleaned for safe fireplace use.
