In this week's , New York Life Investments' Global Market Strategy team discusses Liberation Day, which is coming – though investors could be forgiven for not feeling especially free. Announced for April 2, the term refers to the Trump administration’s planned rollout of reciprocal tariffs aimed at trade partners with big surpluses and steep barriers to U.S. exports. The idea is to “level the playing field” in global trade, and the hope is more clarity could reduce investor angst – even if that clarity comes with higher trade barriers.

Do you know that New York Life just declared the largest dividend in our company's history? What's more, it will be the 171st consecutive year that we've paid dividends to eligible participating whole life policy owners. You can read about it on our website or call me if you want to know more.

New York Life, America’s largest mutual life insurer, has declared a dividend of $2.5 billion payable to eligible participating policy owners in 2025, the highest payout in its nearly 180-year history.
