The IRS has finalized regulations that simplify Form 8308 reporting requirements for partnerships.

Under the new rules, partnerships are no longer required to furnish the detailed Part IV information to buyers and sellers of partnership interests by January 31. Instead, only Parts I–III must be provided by that deadline, while the complete form is submitted with the partnership’s annual Form 1065 filing.

The regulations are effective May 20, 2026.

Transfer pricing non-compliance rarely surfaces all at once. It builds quietly until an audit reveals the full exposure.

Penalties of up to 40%, double taxation across jurisdictions, and significant time spent managing disputes—the costs are real and often preventable.

We’ve put together a practical guide covering the risks, common pitfalls, and what companies with international operations should have in place: https://kbfadvisory.com/the-real-cost-of-getting-transfer-pricing-wrong-five-categories-of-exposure/

New QSBS regulations are on the horizon, and the Section 1202 exclusion just got bigger.

Higher exclusion limits, shorter holding period requirements, and an increased gross asset threshold could make more founders, employees, and investors eligible for the benefit.

But one thing hasn't changed: documentation remains critical. Without the right records, claiming QSBS benefits can become much more difficult, regardless of future regulatory guidance.

Learn what’s changing and what documentation should be in place now: https://kbfadvisory.com/section-1202-qsbs-regulations-are-coming-heres-what-to-document-now/

The moment your company has a foreign entity and begins transacting with it, transfer pricing rules apply—with no de minimis exception.

For CFOs and tax directors navigating a new cross-border structure, the first 90 days matter. Get the documentation, agreements, or pricing methods wrong early, and the risk can compound quickly.

We put together a practical cheat sheet covering key transaction types, penalty thresholds, and what’s required at each step. If your business is expanding internationally, start here: https://kbfadvisory.com/9236-2/

If your startup has issued convertible notes, there’s an important tax reporting question to answer: which form should you use to report interest income?

For most startups, the answer comes down to Form 1099-OID vs. Form 1099-INT. Choosing the wrong one can create reporting issues for both your company and your investors.

We put together a short guide to help break down the difference and when each form applies.

States are responding to the OBBBA in very different ways.

This quarter’s update covers how states are selectively adopting, decoupling from, or fully conforming to key provisions of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA). We also highlight notable non-OBBBA developments, including Washington’s new tax on high earners, a taxpayer win in Florida on sourcing, policy updates in Texas and Louisiana, and a tax rate cut in Utah.
