Several people as asked me how much rising interest rates affect your buying power in a home purchase.

For every 1% increase in interest rates, your buying power decreases by about 10% estimated.

Last year we had interest rates in the mid 2 % range this months range is in the high 4% range.

An example would be if you were approved for a purchase of 200k in March, you now would be able to purchase a home for 170,000 for the same monthly payment.

Luckily, we still have several options available for purchasing power.
