Happy Monday! The 2-1 temporary interest rate buy down is the BEST tool you have to fight higher interest rates.. so how does it work? First, a seller agrees to purchase a 2-1 buy down for the buyer of their home, then the first year’s payments are made at a 2% lower interest rate than the full rate. The 2nd year’s payments are made at a 1% lower interest rate than the full rate. Year 3-30 payments are made at the full fixed rate. By then, we hope rates are corrected and you’ll be able to refinance to a permanently lower interest rate! Message us for more details!
