When Hurricane Isaias hit Pensacola, our own John Wheeler packed up and headed west to help.

Working alongside Rotary and Disaster Aid USA, John joined a disaster response team supporting families and neighbors in the Panhandle as they start to recover. These photos show Mike Tatem sawing a large oak and youth from Voyage Church in Pace, Florida helping a Vietnam veteran.

We know firsthand how much it means when people show up after a storm. We’re proud of John for answering the call, and grateful to every volunteer, first responder, and organization helping Pensacola rebuild.

Our hearts are with everyone affected. 💙

‼️ Update: Customer Appreciation BBQ canceled ‼️

With storms and heavy rain expected in Lake City on Friday, we've decided to cancel our Annual Customer Appreciation BBQ planned for October 9. We want everyone to stay safe and dry, and the pork shoulder deserves better weather too!

We were looking forward to seeing you. Thank you to everyone who planned to stop by. We'll keep looking for ways to say thank you, and we hope to see you soon.

Please stay safe this week. If you need anything, give us a call. We're always here for you.

The sauce is on! 🔥

Good BBQ doesn't need sauce, but who's turning down a little sweet and tangy? This weekend we made a batch of our own to go with slow roasted pork shoulder. We started with a traditional Southern vinegar sauce, eased up on the pepper, and leaned into the sweet. If you love it, we'll probably have some extra to send home with you.

Our Annual Customer Appreciation BBQ is this Friday. It's our way of saying thank you, so come hungry and stay a while.

📅 Friday, October 9 | 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
📍 Our front parking lot, 622 SW Main Blvd, Lake City
🍽️ Slow-smoked pork shoulder sandwiches, Cajun corn, iced tea, Priscilla's tea cake cookies, and root b**r floats

No RSVP needed. Just show up with a smile! We'll serve until 2:00 PM or until the food runs out.

What a great afternoon at the Florida Gateway Fairgrounds! 🍖

Thank you to every business owner, HR leader, and community partner who joined us last week for The Secret Sauce to Building a Benefits Strategy That Strengthens Your Business. We loved seeing so many local leaders in one room, all working on the same question: how do we take better care of our people?

A big thank you to our speakers. John Medina of First Federal Bank talked about why it matters. Joey Chamberlain of Cheek and Scott Pharmacy and Cornerstone Care Clinic showed how a new approach to healthcare access can work. And our own Shawn Morrison tied it all together at the close.

Special thanks to Ryan for organizing and MC'ing the event. When you take care of your people, you keep your people, and that makes the whole community stronger. 💛

Our team laced up for the Sneaker Ball benefiting the FGC Food Pantry and Catholic Charities, and it was a night to remember! 👟

Greg dressed so sharp that Lee mistook him for the live auctioneer. Greg went with it, kept the crowd laughing all evening, and even offered to sing if someone paid $1,000. No one took him up on it, so his singing career is on hold for now.

We also watched one very determined guest bid against herself for a Gator helmet. Now that's commitment to a good cause!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the FGC Food Pantry and Catholic Charities. Nights like this show how much Lake City shows up for its neighbors.

Fall is finally here, Lake City. 🍂

The temperatures are dropping (well, slowly but surely down here in Florida) and we are soaking up every bit of it. From our Wheeler Agency family to yours, welcome to our favorite time of year.

Like diamonds on our shoes. 💎 On September 26, our team is heading to the Catholic Charities Sneaker Ball in our fanciest bling sneakers to help support kids in our community.

While we're there to celebrate, we're also collecting brand new sneakers for kids who need a fresh pair for school and life. Want to bless a local kid with new shoes? Drop off a pair at our office anytime before September 26.

Your landlord's insurance covers the building. Not your stuff.

Laptops, furniture, clothes - it adds up faster than you think. Renters insurance is one of the most affordable policies out there and one of the most skipped. Don't find out you needed it after something goes wrong.
