Florida auto parts stores have more going on than a standard retail shelf.

Inventory, customer slip-and-fall exposure, delivery vehicles, employee drivers, POS/cyber risk, product liability, and customer-vehicle handling can all change how the policy should be built.

We published a Florida guide for auto parts store owners covering BOP/property, inventory values, delivery auto, workers comp, garage liability questions, and what to send before quoting.

Florida contractors: the state license minimum and the COI a GC or project owner asks for are not the same thing.

A contractor can satisfy the CILB insurance floor and still run into a contract asking for $1M/$2M GL, additional insured wording, waiver of subrogation, primary/noncontributory wording, workers comp proof, commercial auto, or umbrella limits.

We published a Florida guide that separates DBPR/CILB license minimums from real-world contract and certificate requirements, with a quote-prep checklist before promising wording the policy may not support.

Florida flower shops are not just retail stores. Delivery, wedding venue COIs, refrigerated stock, workers comp, and POS/online order exposure can all change the insurance conversation.

We put together a Florida florist insurance checklist for shop owners reviewing leases, venue certificate requests, delivery vehicles, cooler failure, and quote documents.

Florida pool contractors: busy season is not the time to find out your insurance package does not match the work you actually do.

Pool builders, remodelers, resurfacing crews, equipment installers, and service companies all carry different risks. General liability, workers comp, commercial auto, tools, subcontractor certificates, and chemical or draining-related exposures can all matter before the next job starts.

Key tip: review your certificates, payroll, truck use, and subcontractor paperwork before renewal week or before a larger commercial/HOA job asks for proof of coverage.

For many commercial auto carriers we work with, the fleet conversation really changes once a Florida business has over 9 power units.

That means 10+ self-propelled work trucks, vans, service units, box trucks, or similar vehicles. At that point, the carrier is looking at much more than the vehicle list: driver MVRs, garaging, radius, loss runs, hired/non-owned auto, contracts, and umbrella requirements can all affect the account.

If you are approaching the 10th power unit, review the policy before renewal week.

Jacksonville electrical contractors: larger commercial jobs can fall apart over the certificate, not the craftsmanship.

Before you bid work for a GC, property manager, school, warehouse, or industrial site, review your general liability, workers comp, commercial auto, umbrella, tools coverage, and subcontractor paperwork. The contract may require more than your normal renewal package.

Key tip: ask for the insurance exhibit before bid day, not the week the certificate is due.

Building a new home in Florida? Builderโ€™s risk is familiar, but it may not be your only insurance path.

For eligible owner-occupied new builds, our dwelling-under-construction homeowners option can start during construction, satisfy lender insurance requirements, include liability coverage not typically provided with standalone builderโ€™s risk, and transition toward homeowners coverage after completion.

One more thing to check: many standalone builderโ€™s risk policies are written for 12 months and fully earned. If the home finishes around 8 months, unused premium may not be refunded.

Before you bind a temporary standalone policy, compare the options.

Your business insurance can go up even when you had zero claims.

That does not mean you should sign the renewal without questions. Florida carriers look at property values, payroll, sales, vehicles, driver lists, litigation trends, deductible changes, and whether they still want that type of account.

Before you accept a painful increase, compare the renewal against last yearโ€™s policy line by line.

Why did your Florida bar insurance go up at renewal?

For bars, lounges, and restaurants that serve alcohol, the renewal is not just about last year's premium. Liquor liability, sales audits, late-night hours, entertainment, workers comp payroll, umbrella wording, and carrier appetite can all change the number.

Before you sign, check the audit basis, liquor liability limits, assault and battery wording, and whether the policy still matches how your business actually operates.
