With two active storms approaching, it is important to be prepared. Here are a few tips to make sure you are prepared in the event of a hurricane.
1. Have a plan. A well rounded plan will take into account knowing your risk factors, having an emergency kit, developing a family communications plan, having an evacuation plan, and the items you will need to safeguard your health (including face masks and hand sanitizers).
2. Protect financial documents. In the event of a disaster, you will need identification and financial documents to begin the recovery process. Safeguard important documents in a bank safe deposit box, computer storage devices (USB drive, CD/DVD), and in waterproof storage containers.
