📢 Big news for Florida homeowners!

The Florida House has approved the proposal that could eventually eliminate property taxes on homesteaded homes and send the question to voters in 2026

Lawmakers passed the constitutional amendment Thursday after more than a year of study, debate and political maneuvering. The proposal would phase out property taxes on primary residences while preserving levies for schools. House leaders described it as a historic tax relief and now in the hands of the Florida Senate. If 60 percent of voters approve the measure on the 2026 ballot, it would take effect in the 2027 tax year.

Is the "Florida Insurance Renaissance" finally here? 🌅

Florida homeowners, I have some news you probably haven't heard in a long time: Rates are stabilizing. After years of "How high can they go?", the narrative is shifting for 2026. Here’s what you need to know this month:

📉 Citizens Rate Relief: For the first time in recent memory, Citizens is requesting an average 2.6% rate decrease for personal lines starting this summer.

🤝 More Choices: 17 new private carriers have entered the Florida market since the recent reforms. More competition = more options for you to get out of Citizens and into a more robust private policy.

🚗 Auto Insurance Refunds: Thanks to a massive drop in litigation, some major auto carriers (like Progressive) have already issued nearly $1 Billion in refunds to Florida drivers.

My Advice for January: Don't just "autopilot" your renewal. With new companies entering the state, the policy you have today might not be the best value available tomorrow.
