Your bank account isn’t an estate plan. šŸ‘€
There are things your bank may never explain to you about what happens to your money when you become incapacitated or pass away. Joint accounts, beneficiaries, powers of attorney, and even your safe deposit box can create unexpected problems for your family.
A properly prepared Revocable Living Trust can help make things much easier for the people you leave behind. ā¤ļø
Don’t wait until your family is trying to figure it all out. Plan now.
šŸ“² Message me if you have questions about getting your estate plan in place.

Having two trustees may work well for some families—but it can also create serious problems.
Even when two siblings are extremely close, requiring both people to agree on every decision can lead to disagreements, delays, frustration, and sometimes even family conflict when important financial or estate decisions need to be made.
The goal of your estate plan should be to make things clear, simple, and manageable—especially during an already difficult time.
Before naming co-trustees, think carefully about how they will work together and whether requiring two signatures or two approvals is really the best choice for your family.

Your Ex Could Still Inherit Your Retirement Account. 😳
Just because you don’t want your ex to get your retirement account anymore doesn’t mean they won’t.
If your ex is still listed as the beneficiary on your 401(k), IRA, or other retirement account, that beneficiary designation may control who receives the money when you die. Simply being divorced or telling your family that you don’t want your ex to receive it isn’t enough.
You need to actually review and update the beneficiary designation with your retirement account provider.
āš ļø And don’t assume your trust automatically fixes this either. Retirement accounts have their own beneficiary designations and need to be reviewed separately.
If you’ve been divorced, remarried, or had another major life change, check those beneficiary forms! You may be surprised by who is still listed.

There’s a BIG misconception about putting your belongings into a trust: people think they’ll lose control.
The truth? With a revocable living trust, you stay in control. You can manage your assets, make changes, and even revoke the trust during your lifetime.
