🏛️ Welcome to Today’s Government 101!

A lot of people have asked, “What exactly is a City Council person, and how many do we have?”
Here in LaGrange, we have 6 City Council members—3 representing District 1 and 3 representing District 2.

A council member is elected to represent the people, listen to concerns, vote on ordinances and budgets, help set priorities for the city, and work with the rest of the council to move LaGrange forward.

And no—they aren’t “mini-mayors” of their districts. All six members come together as one City Council to make decisions that can impact the entire city.

We’re going to keep breaking local government down in a way that’s simple, useful, and easy to understand.
💡 The more you know about your city government, the stronger your voice becomes.
