💗 Insurance Definition of the Day: Deductible 🏡🚗

Your deductible is the amount you pay out of pocket toward a covered claim before your insurance kicks in to pay the remaining covered amount.

✨ Example: If you have a $2,500 deductible on a covered $10,000 claim, you would pay $2,500, and your insurance would cover the remaining $7,500, subject to your policy terms.

🏠 Why is my house insured for more than I paid for it?
Your home’s purchase price is different from the estimated cost to rebuild it after a covered loss.

📄 What happens if my insurance gets cancelled after closing?
A cancellation may create an issue with your mortgage company. Typically, carriers provide time to correct the issue, and if it can’t be resolved, your agent should work with you to find a policy that best fits your needs.

💌 Why does my renewal look different this year?
Your policy’s replacement cost is reviewed and updated as needed, so you may notice increased coverage limits or additional endorsements at renewal. It’s important to review your renewal with your agent to make sure your policy still fits your needs.

🏠 Does homeowners insurance cover my roof if it’s old?
