The term “member” in the credit union world stems from the ownership those that belong have within the organization. Our members own a “share” in the company with their savings account. Each individual must keep $25 in their savings account at all times to remain a member.

Shared branching gives credit union members added access to services when they’re away from home, but it’s not exactly the same as visiting your home branch.

Shared branches can help with many everyday transactions, including:

💵 Deposits
💳 Withdrawals
🔄 Transfers
🧾 Loan payments

Some services, account changes, or other specialized transactions may still need to be handled directly through your home credit union. Withdrawal and deposit limits can also vary by credit union, so daily limits may apply depending on the type of transaction and the shared branch location.

Think of shared branching as an extension of your credit union’s reach, giving you convenient access to services when you’re away from home 🤍🏦
