Medicare has strict rules about how plans can contact you. Knowing these rules is your best defense against aggressive or misleading sales pitches:
𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 (𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀!):
• 💌 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗹? Fine. Plans can send you things in the mail.
• 📞 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗹𝘀𝗲? 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗱! If you are not already a customer, a plan CANNOT legally call you, email you, visit your home, or approach you in public to sell their plan unless you gave them permission first.
