Our annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection has started again. If you have old gasoline, oil based paints, toxic art supplies, roofing tar, anti-freeze and more you are trying to get rid of, now is your change. At no charge to our participating communities, you can attend anyone of these collection events and dispose of your hazardous waste for free. The program has a limit of 10 gal or 50 lbs of waste per household and is only available to residents of participating communities at no cost. A reminder that we do not accept ahead of time drop offs. ⚠️ If you're shopping for health insurance in New Hampshire, this is worth a quick read. State regulators are warning consumers to be cautious of some of the "cheaper alternative" health plans being advertised. While the low monthly cost may sound appealing, some of these plans can leave you paying far more out of pocket than you expected. Before you enroll, here are a few things to watch out for:

Cost-sharing groups sound nice in theory — everyone chips in to help cover each other's medical bills. But here's the catch: they're not actually required by law to pay your claim. So, if the group decides not to cover something, you don't have the same legal protections you'd have with real insurance.
Plans that ask you to become an "employee" or "partner" of some company you've never heard of, just so you can qualify for coverage — that's a big red flag. That kind of setup is not how legitimate insurance works.
Bare-bones plans with small payouts (like $50 for a doctor visit or $200/day if you're hospitalized) are sometimes marketed like they're a real substitute for full health insurance — but they're not even close. A single ER visit or hospital stay could still leave you with thousands in bills. Some of these are even being sold illegally in the state.
A few easy ways to protect yourself:
• Actually read the plan details before signing up — know what's covered and what's not.
• Legit limited-benefit plans are required to say right on the front page that they're not full health insurance. If that disclaimer's missing, be suspicious.
• Feel free to ask the agent for their license number — a legitimate agent won't mind sharing it.
