Are you working on launching a new small business? A $2,000 or $4,000 Red Letter Grant could provide the hand-up you need to get started!

The Red Letter Grant is open to women living in 18 counties throughout West Central and Northwest Wisconsin:

Region 1: Buffalo, Clark, Chippewa, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, Pepin, Pierce, St. Croix, and Trempealeau Counties

Region 2: Barron, Burnett, Polk, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor, and Washburn Counties

We are looking for Native-owned food trucks and mobile food vendors to serve lunch at our 3rd Annual Housing and Economic Development Conference on 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, at the Menominee Casino & Resort in Keshena.

This is an opportunity to showcase your food and your business while serving conference attendees from across Wisconsin.

Please Note: Electrical service is not available from the Casino, so participating food trucks must be able to operate without an external electrical connection. Also, food trucks need to be licensed under the Chapter 335-Food Handling License and provide a copy for the Casino.

Wisconsin Native Loan Fund will be closed on Monday, August 17th, 2026 and Tuesday, August 18th, 2026 as our team attends the WIHEDC Joint Teams Retreat.

We’re proud to join Wisconsin Indigenous Housing & Economic Development Corporation and our partnering Native CDFI’s across Wisconsin for an opportunity to collaborate, connect, and strengthen our collective work in support of Native communities.

We're happy to see this wonderful addition to the Northwoods Forest History Experience! Be sure to visit and learn more about the traditional Ojibwe wigwam and its cultural significance.

Traditional Ojibwe Wigwam Now at Northwoods Forest History Experience

The Northwoods Forest History Experience again has something new to explore. Thanks to the guidance of birch bark canoe builder and Ojibwe culture teacher Wayne Valliere, of the local Lac du Flambeau Tribe, and some assistants, a traditional Ojibwe wigwam now stands behind the NFHE building.

The wood used to build the wigwam was harvested locally in the Northwoods. This unique structure is a great addition to a learning experience about local forestry practices, including traditional ones.
