It’s that time of year again! You get your yearly email from your CPA reminding you to make your tax appointment.
You scramble to get your documents together and haphazardly try to get QuickBooks (or your spreadsheet) updated, with no real idea if the transactions are going in the right categories.
You swore you’d be better about it this year...for the last 5 years.
On the surface, everyone sees your business and thinks you’re a bad ass, but underneath it all you feel chaotic, confused and unclear.
You tell yourself, “I’m an adult, I should know what to do, I should do better” but no one ever made a lasting change when rooted in guilt and shame. You know what you need to do, and you know you also will not do it.

👇Do you know the answer to this question?

If you are filing them yourself, make sure you fully understand:
⚬ Who your business needs to issue 1099s to
⚬ What amount each 1099 should report
⚬ When you need to file each type of 1099

If you aren't filing your own 1099s, make sure to communicate with your bookkeeper or CPA ASAP to ensure you have plenty of time to get them the information they'll need!

If you have a payroll processor, check to see if they will be filing 1099s for you. If you go this route, you need to understand that you may have additional 1099s for expenses, like rent, that your payroll processor may not file for you. 💸

If you need help filing your 1099s this year, I still have some availability.

The work/life balance is a year-round struggle, but its event harder during the holidays!

Here are a few tips to make running your business a little less stressful during this already very busy season.

1. Set holiday hours. If your business allows for it, limit the amount you are working and be sure to silence notifications outside of your new holiday hours.

2. Automate social media posts. You can keep showing up on social media without actually having to create a post every single day. Create batch content and use automated scheduling. (This is great all year!)

3. Don't do it all. Make a list of the essential tasks you need to get done to keep your business running during the holidays. Save non-urgent projects for after the craziness of the holidays! There's not need to add more to your plate.

And most importantly...enjoy time with your family and friends!
