Andrew takes pride in being a valued resource in the business community and is a member of the National City Chamber of Commerce where his wife sits on the board of directors. Andrew uses all of his experience working with business owners to help negotiate the best terms possible when helping his clients in a real estate transaction. Andrew’s wife, Maribel, is a high school principal and he saw firsthand a need to help teachers learn about real estate and so he created a special program to help guide them through the complex process when buying or selling real estate. Andrew Gavin has had a long career in the sports industry traveling the country working with that industries’ top retailers and elite pro athletes. Now settled down back in La Mesa, Andrew has joined Lookup Realty, a nationally ranked top 1% team within Keller Williams. Andrew with his wife Maribel created the Bikes 4 Kids Charity in an effort to help fight child obesity and the onset of diabetes. In 2016, Andrew’s Charity raised nearly $5,000 to purchase bikes for 65-grade school kids. When Andrew isn’t working with his clients guiding them to make the best decisions buying or selling a home, he sits on the board for the “Tour de Cure,” an organized 100-mile charity bike ride that raises money for diabetes research.

You have probably seen the ads for these programs.

They have done a great job hyping them up and focussing on the few true benefits, but they neglect two major things.

1. when you partner withth one of these lenders, they put a lien on your home and immediately own a percent of your property however, they dont ever contribute to its upkeep.

2. They attemt to make you believe you aren’t in debt to them, since you don’t have a monthly payment. Debt is debt no matter how it’s packaged.

These numbers show real costs for these programs compared to their competitor, the HELOC.

Things only get worse, than what is shown here, if the heloc has a lower rate, or you are only using a percent of the initial dispersement. If your home is worth more than the value used in this breakdown, you would also own them more at payoff.
