SUCCESS STORIES SERIES:

Catherine Shin | Sophomore | Investment Banking | RA Capital Advisors

FPN carries a great database of alumni and provides limitless resources for underclassmen like myself. With that said, my undergrad mentor introduced me to a private investment bank over the summer; in result, I was able to secure an internship for this school year. Having mentors who have landed full time offers in bulge-bracket banks, I was able to constantly push myself along the way and I am very excited to say that I will be interning as a summer analyst at Goldman Sachs this coming summer.

Not only did I meet life-long mentors, but I also learned much more about myself and what I truly want to do with my life and the impact I want to make. Mentorship has been a huge impact in my life and I truly appreciate all our mentors for attributing their experiences to FPN.

I joined FPN during my sophomore year and met my life-long mentor. Throughout my past two years, my mentor guided me along my preparation and recruiting process. Whenever I had questions or difficulties, he was always there to help despite his long, busy hours as a full time analyst. I definitely couldn't land my offer without his guidance. Besides my mentor, the overall strong network of FPN also provided me with many more opportunities that I was never aware of. Joining FPN and having a mentor to guide me early in my college life were definitely some of the greatest decisions that I have made.

Through FPN I was able to get in touch with an alumni who introduced me to opportunities at Credit Suisse (“CS”) in Asia-Pacific. I took the opportunity to hop on a 30-minute call with the alumni and it led to further networking opportunities that helped me land my summer internship with CS. Prior to getting connected I had not even thought of targeting bulge-brackets firms.
