Today, our community lost a leader and public servant. John spent his entire life loving La Grange and Oldham County.

Mayor John Black didn't just love this town, he lived for it. There was no one more passionate about preserving the charm, history, and spirit of La Grange while thoughtfully helping it grow. It was his diligence and persistence that made La Grange into the vibrant community that it is today.

He cherished every new business that opened their doors and invested in our community. He genuinely wanted everyone to feel like they belonged here.

Our hearts are heavy today, but we are also deeply grateful for the countless ways John touched our lives and strengthened our community.

Thank you, John, for loving this community so unconditionally and your many years of service. His legacy will continue to live on through the people he met, the projects he implemented, and the positive changes he orchestrated.

Please keep John's family, friends, and all who loved him in your thoughts and prayers.
