It’s Fire Prevention Week, and this year’s message hits close to home: Charge into Fire Safety™. 🔋🔥

Rechargeable devices are part of everyday life, but how and where we charge them matters.

A few small habits can make a big impact:

✔️ Use the charger that came with your device or one approved by the manufacturer.
✔️ Charge devices on a hard, flat surface — not on beds, couches, or pillows.
✔️ Stop using a device if the battery gets unusually hot, swells, smells strange, leaks, smokes, or makes popping or hissing sounds.
✔️ Unplug devices once they’re fully charged.
✔️ When possible, charge larger batteries for e-bikes, scooters, and power tools outside and away from exits.
✔️ When flying, keep charging devices where you can see them so problems can be spotted quickly.
