Your homeowners insurance typically protects your dwelling and other structures and contents from damages due to fire, smoke, lightning, hail, theft and other exposures as described in your policy. Earthquake damage, however, is typically excluded from homeowners insurance policies
Though the images below are not from the Knoxville area, the damage an Earthquake can cause is tremendous as seen in the pictures from an Earthquake in Oklahoma.

while you live elsewhere during repairs.

A: In most homeowners policies, earth movement is an
excluded type of loss for dwelling's/structure's.

covered but what about my personal belongings like
TV's, appliances, furniture, clothing etc. are they
covered under my standard home policy?
A: No, like the house damage exclusion, your personal
property is not covered either.

Comprehensive coverage on your Auto policy, If you
only have liability coverage and or collision coverage, it
will not be covered.

dwelling coverage amount for your home of your current
policy (found in part A of your declarations page)
