Some wins live far beyond the scoreboard.

In this clip, Bob Kesling, the longtime Voice of the Vols, reflects on Tennessee’s unforgettable victory over Alabama, the kind of moment that fans will remember forever.

But behind moments like that are deeper lessons in leadership: staying calm under pressure, trusting the people around you, and executing when the stakes are highest.

Great moments don’t just happen. They are built through belief, preparation, and teamwork long before the spotlight arrives.

Some of the most powerful leadership lessons happen far from the scoreboard.

In this clip, Bob Kesling reflects on a powerful lesson in perspective: Coach Pearl taking the UT basketball team to St. Jude before one of the biggest games of their careers.

What could have been a day focused only on pressure, preparation, and the moment ahead became a reminder of something much bigger. Bob connects that experience to the deeper leadership lessons behind great teams. It comes down to staying calm when the stakes are high, trusting others to do their job, and understanding that success is built through belief, teamwork, and intentional ex*****on.

It’s also a reminder that leadership is not just about winning or performing under pressure. It’s about staying grounded, serving others, and recognizing the impact you can have beyond the game.

When success is put into perspective, paying it forward becomes part of the legacy.

The best don’t review their work to admire it; they review it to improve it.

Bob Kesling, longtime Voice of the Tennessee Volunteers, shares that he reviewed every tape and recording of his broadcasts. And not once did he finish a call thinking it was perfect.

There was always something he believed he could have done better.

That mindset is what separates professionals from everyone else: the humility to critique your own work, the discipline to prepare, and the commitment to keep improving long after others would be satisfied.

Because long-term success is not built on talent alone. It is built on consistency, preparation, and never letting “good enough” become the standard.

Investing doesn't have to be overcomplicated: at its core, it's a system of incentives where motivation follows reward.

With help from Pookie, an eight-year-old pig diva who knows exactly what she's worth, the message is simple: aligned incentives can drive behavior, innovation, and long-term opportunity.

You may only get one break. The question is whether you’ll be ready for it.

In this clip, Bob Kesling reflects on advice he received from legendary sportscaster Lindsey Nelson about professionalism, preparation, and earning opportunities long before they arrive.

At its core, the lesson goes beyond broadcasting: focus on the process, commit to improvement, and build the habits that drive consistent success over time.

Because when the moment comes, preparation is what makes the difference.

What happens when you’re asked to follow a legend?

In this clip, Bob Kesling reflects on a conversation with former Vols head football coach and long-time UT Athletics Director, Doug Dickey, and the advice that helped shape his approach to leadership, pressure, and expectations.

The lesson: don’t try to be someone else. Be yourself, take ownership of your role, and do the work the right way.

Authenticity, accountability, and pride in your work - that’s what lasting leadership is built on.
