As a bail bondsman, I've traveled all over this country. I've met officers from hundreds of different departments. Many of them have gone to great lengths and were instrumental in helping me get done what I needed to get done. I've also had several unpleasant encounters with law enforcement. Everything from refusal to assist to downright antagonism. I've been threatened, lied to, cussed out and on one particular case of misidentification, body slammed on the hood of a police car and taken "downtown". On each and every one of these negative encounters, I never lost my composure. I certainly never threatened an officer and most assuredly never put my hands on one. It had nothing to do with being afraid of them or "boot licking". It had everything to do with the fact that I wanted the encounter to end with everyone going home safe. Me and the officers. If everyone felt that way, most of these encounters that we're seeing on television would never occur.

If anyone gets arrested for singing in church this weekend, I'll post your bond for free!

The irony of a pre trial detainee being released without making bond and a post conviction violator being held on a cash only bond lends tremendous credibility to the notion that it's all about who owes whom! 😒

Worked through the night to arrange bonds for two clients charged with DUI. Answering their calls, coordinating with the families, answering the families questions, etc., only to have them released on state funded pre trial bonds. The taxpayer pays to arrest them and the taxpayer pays to release them. New York, our liberal big cities and counties are learning nothing from you. A liberal is a liberal is a liberal no matter what state you put them in.

As New York politicians begin running for cover and Delaware considers repealing its bail reform laws, it's important to understand how we got to this point. There was never any "reform" considered in implementing these new laws. It was enacted for the sole purpose of eliminating private surety bail. How else can you explain that those who are most experienced in bail matters were never consulted? Tennessee has now began implementing these same procedures in the four major urban areas and unofficial reports are that courts are already seeing a rise in no shows and non compliance. As the great Virginia statesman, Patrick Henry, once said, "I know of no way of judging the future but by the past." It won't be long before those who are now touting these "progressive reforms" will be seeking the same political cover that their counterparts up north are looking for. You want to know why surety bail works? Try talking to someone besides some ivory tower social justice warrior who's never posted a single bond or arrested a single fugitive!

If jail overcrowding is such a hit button issue, why are bonded defendants held in jail only because the "ankle monitoring people" can't be bothered on a weekend!

In this day and time, I am amazed at jails that operate without written policies and procedures. Having officers make up the rules as they go along creates a dangerous environment for everyone involved.

When I see bail bondsmen complaining about Pre-trial Release, while at the same time advertising 1% to 5% premium. Recognize that you're not part of the solution. You're a big part of the problem.

Possession of methamphetamine. Released on tax payer funded bond. Tax payer funded bonding has arrived full force in Knox county!

Professional dilemma: After picking up a skip in a county that was very clear that "We don't assist bondsmen" and discovering that my arrestee might be the suspect in a counterfeit money passing investigation, am I ethically bound to pass this information on to anyone? Hmmmm??

I'm constantly amazed at the people who will call wanting advice about the recovery part of this job without even taking the time to find out who they're calling. Why would you take advice, over the phone no less, from someone that you've never even heard of?
