In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, our Shafer Serves Committee invited the team to wear green today in support of organizations across East Tennessee working to promote mental health awareness and provide critical community resources. We’re grateful for nonprofits like the Helen Ross McNabb Foundation / McNabb Center, InterFaith Health Center, and United Way of Greater Knoxville for the meaningful work they do every day to support individuals and families throughout our region.

Here at Shafer Insurance Agency, being part of the community means more than simply doing business. A priority is to support the people, places, and local businesses that make our region special. We started a Lunch Club, encouraging our younger team members to get out into the community, visit locally owned restaurants, and experience new spots across the area. Whether they are brand new or simply new to us.

As one of the largest locally owned insurance agencies in the region, we believe strong community connections matter. Supporting local businesses, building relationships, and staying engaged with the communities we serve will always be an important part of who we are.

The first Lunch Club stop was an easy choice: the brand new Jackson Brown Chicken and Fish, just a few minutes from our office in historic Mechanicsville. Great food, great people, and a restaurant built around community. Exactly the kind of local business we love supporting. Safe to say the fried fish and bbq made a pretty strong first impression on the group.

Last week our Tri-Cities team was proud to sponsor and attend the Associated General Contractors of Tennessee Tri-Cities Golf Tournament. It was a great day spent connecting with contractors, business leaders, and people from across the region while supporting an organization that does so much for the construction industry and our local communities. We always appreciate the opportunity to build relationships outside the office, all while enjoying a little friendly competition on the course. Thanks to everyone who helped make the tournament such a success, we are already looking forward to next year!
