Buying a home involves more than just the down payment. ๐Ÿก

Some costs can be easy to overlook when planning your budget. Here are five expenses worth keeping in mind:

1. Closing Costs โ€“ Often 3โ€“5% of the purchase price and may include lender fees, title fees, taxes, and other transaction-related costs.

2. Home Inspection โ€“ Typically a separate expense that provides information about the home's condition before closing.

3. Appraisal Gap โ€“ If the appraised value is lower than the purchase price, additional funds may be needed to complete the transaction.

4. Moving + Setup Costs โ€“ Moving expenses, utility deposits, new furnishings, and other setup costs can add up quickly.

5. Maintenance + Repairs โ€“ Ongoing upkeep and unexpected repairs are part of homeownership and should be considered when budgeting.

Being aware of these potential expenses can help you feel more prepared throughout the homebuying process.
