June is Pride Month, and Kingston is full of celebrations each year!

On Saturday, June 6th, the Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center is hosting the Hudson Valley Pride March, which begins in Uptown Kingston with a 12 pm kickoff. The march is followed by Kingston Pride Festival at Academy Green Park 🌈

Meet our Executive Director, Amanda (Mandy) L. Bruck!

Born and raised in Kingston, Mandy has served KLDC and the City of Kingston for over 20 years. As Executive Director, she oversees the daily operations, manages the loan and financial portfolios, and administers the Kingston Business Park. She also serves as the Director of the Office of Community Development for the City of Kingston, and is a licensed New York State funeral director.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, she enjoys golfing, biking, boating, traveling, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.

Ready to take your business to new heights? Our low-interest loan programs help Kingston-based companies start, expand, or invest in their future.

Loan applications for this month are due by Thursday, April 30th, at 3:00 pm–no exceptions!

All loan and grant applications are reviewed by our Finance Committee prior to being brought before the full Board for approval. Submission of applications must be complete, or they will not be considered at the committee's regularly scheduled monthly meeting.

Resource Highlight: Hudson Valley Venture Hub at SUNY New Paltz connects local entrepreneurs and startups with investors, service providers, and other existing resources to strengthen our regional business ecosystem.

For qualifying startups and existing companies with high potential to scale, they provide direct and highly individualized incubation services. In the last year, their Accelerator has helped facilitate the creation of 64 new full-time jobs, and the participating companies raised a combined total of $9.5 million.

We're excited to introduce KLDC's newest board member, Tony Marmo!

Tony is the President of Normann Staffing in Kingston. Previously, he was employed by The Kingston Hospital for 23 years, serving as CEO for 9 years.

Tony has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Pace University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Long Island University. He currently serves on the board of the Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress and co-hosts the Common Unity Ulster podcast with Reverend Donald Mapes of Kingston.

Tony is an active community volunteer with longtime involvement in Rotary International's Hudson Valley Rotary chapters. He is the Co-Founder and Immediate Past President of the Ulster County Italian American Foundation. He is married to Lee Ann Marmo and resides in Ulster Park, New York.

Tax Day arrives next week: if you are a Sole Proprietor or own a Single-Member LLC, April 15th is your deadline to file Form 1040 and Schedule C. (Your first-quarter estimated tax payments are also due the same day.)

We recommend working with a small business accountant to make sure all your forms are filed properly. This will protect both you and your business!
