Celebrate today the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation - the greatest work of possibly the greatest president in history, Abe Lincoln. The Emancipation Proclamation (signed 163 yrs ago!) was supposed to go into effect Jan 1, 1863; however, it took until June 19th, 1865, to go be realized in Texas. Today marks that great day in our history.
