One of the biggest misconceptions about building a home is that you have to pay the full mortgage before the house is finished. That's not how it works!

Lot - Purchase the land
Foundation - Funds are released after inspections
Framing - Another draw is issued as work is completed
Finish - Final construction stages are funded
Keys - Your dream home is complete!
During construction, funds are released in draws as each phase is completed and inspected. That means you're only making interest-only payments during construction, not a full mortgage payment on a home that isn't finished yet.
