A day I don’t think many Alabamans will ever forget. A tragedy that showed us all that when the worst possible happens, we pull together.

Driving recently through parts of Alabama I thought about that day and realized that the trees had finally recovered and that there was virtually no more signs of that terrible day.

It’s always darkest before the light.

Today we remember those that lost their lives and everything they owned in an instant. It is an honor to work in this profession and to be there on people’s worst days to help them put it all back together.

This review. Kevin is a retired NYPD officer who moved here to be closer to his daughter. He loves college football and loves that the Shoals is so close to so many SEC stadiums.

I believe knowing your customers is important. Sure we can do anything digitally that you want with us, but getting a team that knows you and can advise you on your needs is free and it can be a real game changer on your worst day.

There are bad days and then there BAD days. A total loss of a home or property is a devastating personal experience to endure.
Having a relationship with an agent is key in helping to recover from something like Marty’s situation below. Getting a review like this makes what I do so worth it.

Honoring a Half-Century of Dedication: Steve Gist

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to a true pioneer of the HVAC industry. Steve Gist wasn’t just a business owner; he was a fixture in our community for over five decades.

From his early days at Nuby’s A/C & Heating to the partnership at Weatherford’s in the 80s, and finally founding Gist Service Co. in 1989, Steve’s career was defined by more than just technical expertise. It was defined by the handshakes, the late-night service calls, and the mentorship he provided to so many in the trade.

Steve leaves behind a legacy of hard work and integrity that will continue to guide Gist Service Co. We are honored to carry forward the standard of excellence he set so many years ago.

You think it’s cold today? Well back in 1993 we got a real surprise:

❄️ March 12–13, 1993 — The “Storm of the Century” ❄️

On this date in 1993, the Shoals experienced one of the most historic winter storms in Alabama history. Florence and the surrounding area were buried under nearly a foot of snow, with blizzard conditions that shut down roads and knocked out power across the region.

It’s a great reminder that severe weather in Alabama can take many forms—snow, wind, hail, or tornadoes—and the damage can add up quickly.
