Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce the end of slavery. This came more than two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation and marked the effective end of slavery in the United States. It is now a recognized federal holiday.
Let's reflect on our history, recognize ongoing challenges, and promote equality for all.
Our hours of operation will be as follows:
We close on Thursday, June 18 at noon, and will return to the office on Monday, June 22 at 9 am.
