Throwback Thursday
Kindergarten me. โค๏ธ
My mama had me and my brother dressed like we were her little accessories. ๐ Because we were. And let me tell you, I was all for it!
Back then, life was simple. I was worried about coloring inside the lines, making friends, and making sure I had enough snacks.
Money? I didn't know anything about it.
I didn't know what a budget was.
I didn't know what saving meant.
I definitely didn't know about investing.
I just knew I had big dreams.
Looking back, I wish financial education had started as early as reading and math. Imagine how different life could be if every child learned how money works from the beginning.
That's one of the reasons I started Rise Budgeting. I can't go back and teach little Nakea, but I can help someone else's child or adult learn what I wish I'd known sooner.
And yes...even kindergarten me probably would've spent my allowance on snacks.
What do you wish someone had taught you about money when you were growing up? ๐
