What’s not to be thankful for on this Christmas? Things; you know, things, lose their value in the long run.
My sweetheart, the love of my life, has during this year survived cancer, the treatments for cancer, and on Dec. 23, received surgery for a bulging disk that caused steady, excruciating, crying/yelping continuous pain.
My slightly older and only remaining sibling, my sister, is next door, and we share company, coffee and breakfast every day. Her loving son, who could live anywhere in the world, chooses to live nearby and be there for her. And my son and erstwhile chef is home, preparing a sumptuous Christmas feast. And my church is filled with Godly, caring, loving people with hearts the size of Alaska. I can’t think of a single “thing” I would exchange for any of that.
If you experience any of that, you probably have a hint of how blessed I am on this celebration of the birth of the son of God, the epitome of peace and goodwill.
“Thankful” doesn’t begin to express how I feel.
And that’s before I express my love for each and every one of you, my friends.
Merry Christmas seems inadequate, but I can’t think of anything more appropriate.
Vaya con Dios—go with God.
