Romance scammers create fake profiles on dating sites and social media to gain your trust. Once a connection is established, they may ask for money, gift cards, wire transfers, or help with an "emergency."

🚩 Red flags:
• They avoid meeting in person.
• They claim to be traveling or living overseas.
• They ask for money or other financial assistance.

✅ Protect yourself:
• Never send money to someone you've only met online.
• Talk to a trusted friend or family member if something feels off.
• Search their name or profile photo online for warning signs.

Protecting your heart also means protecting your finances. Stay alert and stay
safe.
