For over three decades, Sherrie has been the definition of excellence at First Iowa State Bank. Her proficiency, flawless accuracy, and unmatched dedication to our customers have left a lasting mark on our Bank and everyone she has met.

While Sherrie will miss her coworkers, customers, and knowing what is going on in the community, she looks forward to not having to get out in the cold weather and setting her own schedule! She plans on spending more time with grandchildren and would like to take a trip to Alaska. She shared that some of her favorite memories at the bank include celebrating birthdays and sharing meals and encourages new staff to enjoy moments with their new bank family. (Psst…we think retirees make great surprise guests at potlucks! 😉)

Sherrie, thank you for your unwavering commitment and for being a pillar. We are going to miss you, but we are so excited for this next chapter. Enjoy every bit of your well-deserved retirement!

Please help us welcome Emilee Robinson who joined the First Iowa State Bank team in mid-June!

Outside of work, Emilee loves to hang out with friends and family and go to a lot of concerts. During the summer you can often find her at the lake.

Emilee shows up with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new things and has shown herself to be a quick learner with great attention to detail. We are thrilled to have Emilee on board and support her as she begins her career.

Please help us give a big welcome to Karli Knapp, one of our newest team members! Karli has been learning the ropes and assisting customers in Albia since mid-June. She shared that, “The thing I like the most about working at First Iowa State Bank is how we are one big family and everyone is always willing to give a helping hand if needed.” We are excited to have Karli on our team and look forward to watching her learn, grow, and build connections!

Karli is a 2021 graduate of Moravia High School. She is the daughter of Eric Knapp and Jamie Anderson and sister to Tyler, Allie, and Nate.

Bloomfield employees presented recent Casual for a Cause funds to the DC Schools Dignity Drive. This event, organized by the Drakesville United Women of Faith, has provided hygiene products and snacks for middle school students for several years.

This week marks Tyler Heisel’s 5th year as a Personal Banker with First Iowa State Bank. Not everyone loves to dig into the details of financial disclosures and account compliance, but to him it’s exhilarating. Fortunately, Tyler equally loves the personal side of community banking and getting to know customers!

When asked what the best part of his workday is Tyler shared, “Every day is an opportunity to build relationships with my customers. As an employee owner, I take personally the success and wellbeing of my customers, and there is no greater honor than to have their faith and trust to help manage their financial and business affairs. From estate planning to starting up a small business, it is an absolute pleasure to advocate for the best interests of those I serve and the community we all call home.”

When not at work, Tyler can be found cheering on his favorite teams. “If the Indiana Pacers, Indiana Fever, Iowa Hawkeyes, or Missouri Tigers are playing I will be sitting (or more likely standing or jumping around) in my living room watching the game. To say I build my personal schedule around basketball would be the epitome of an understatement. Truly, unless I’m dead or dying, I will never miss a game.”
