Please help us celebrate 35 years of Elizabeth! Elizabeth grew up in Albia and over time has become a familiar face at our Cantril, Keosauqua, and Bloomfield locations. She knows her stuff and does it with warmth and efficiency.

Elizabeth shares that, "I would encourage all new employees to invest in their customers as they are the reason we have this amazing job." She takes this advice to heart and enjoys helping customers with their daily transactions and knowing them on a level outside of their banking needs. Many people who started out as customers have become friends.

Elizabeth goes the extra mile for those around her, whether it be a kind word, a helping hand, or a home-baked treat to let you know she's thinking of you. We appreciate her hard work and kind heart. Congratulations on this milestone, Elizabeth!

Cindy has a heart for helping our customers and bettering our community. She enjoys getting to know our customers and helping them reach their goals, whether it be buying their first home, or helping local businesses finance their operations.

Outside of work, she loves planting flowers, spending time outdoors, and being with family and friends. Her daughters both attend college, and she cherishes the time they get to spend together.

Fun fact about Cindy is that as well as being active on several boards and committees, she also owns a dance studio in Albia. Whew! She loves working with children and creating a fun, safe, and encouraging space where they can learn, grow, and build confidence. She finds it incredibly rewarding to help young dancers discover their passion, express themselves, and work toward their dreams.

Please help us celebrate 15-year employee Richard Nichols! While he has over 25 years in banking, he remembers his first day well. "My first day as a teller was 01/03/2000-the Monday after Y2K. HR jokingly told me I could start if the bank was still around!"

Richard believes in the power of community banks and truly enjoys being with those he works with. He always takes the time to check in with his team and loves that it feels like a family. He leads by example and is one of the first to offer a helping hand.

Outside of the bank you can find him slinging espresso at Copperline, owned and operated by he and his wife, Jaimie. If he could be doing anything else, he'd like to be playing golf with his daughters Joey and Scarlet. "I always tell them I just need to be their caddy, and they ONLY have to be top 100 in the world!" 😉

It's hard to believe, but today is Donna Flahive's 40th year with First Iowa State Bank and her retirement! Please come celebrate with us from 1-3pm today.
Donna shared a few words about what her career has meant...
I have been incredibly fortunate to have had such a rewarding career at First Iowa State Bank. Along the way, I have worked with outstanding coworkers who have become lifelong friends. The memories we've created and the countless laughs we've shared over the years are something I will always treasure.
One of the accomplishments I am most proud to have been a part of is First Iowa State Bank's unwavering commitment to exceptional customer service. While banking has changed dramatically with online banking, mobile deposits, direct deposit and other technological advances, our dedication to personal service has never changed. I'm proud that when our customers need us, we're here for them. And when you call our bank, a real person still answers the phone.
It has been an honor and a privilege to be part of the First Iowa State Bank family for the past 40 years. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities, friendships, and memories that have made this journey so meaningful. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this incredible chapter of my life.

Landon Witt represented First Iowa State Bank at the Wapello Expo Celebrity Livestock Show. Landon was the "Money Man at the Bank", with his money gun shooting dollar bills while showing his lamb, with his partner, Luke Nicholson. Landon won the Sheep Division and received a trophy for his great showmanship and costume!
