🚜 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 (a couple days late)! 🌾

I got to celebrate October 12th doing something close to my heart: helping out on my family farm alongside three of my favorite farmers! ❤️

Farming is more than a job. It’s 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬, 𝐮𝐧𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 that often goes unseen. To all the farmers who work tirelessly to feed our families and keep our communities going, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮!

One of the things I love most about working with farmers is that I understand firsthand the unique challenges that come with farm life. From 𝐮𝐧𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐚𝐱 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, these conversations require an understanding of more than just the numbers.

𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐚 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭-𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫! 💙

Yesterday was one of those days that reminded me 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐝𝐨! 🥰

I spent the day with two local small businesses, and both visits gave me a firsthand look into what makes their businesses so special.

🏢 One business is growing, so I had the opportunity to meet some of their new team members and learn more about where they’re headed.

🌱 The other is beginning to work through succession planning, so I met the next generation who will one day take the reins.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐈 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬.

As an advisor, I want to understand my clients' “𝐰𝐡𝐲.” I want to see their dreams, their goals, their businesses, and the things they’ve worked so hard to build. When I understand those things, I can help tailor their financial plan around what actually matters to them. 🧩

And then, after the business visits, I headed home to finish emails and administrative work so I could make it to my daughter’s soccer practice on time. ⚽️💻

Because part of 𝐦𝐲 “𝐰𝐡𝐲” is being there for my girls and showing them that moms can build successful careers and be present for the moments that matter. ❤️

𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞, 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐨𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲’𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝.

And I’m incredibly grateful that I get to do that every day. 💙
