At Kentland Bank, our people are more than coworkers. They are part of the communities we serve every single day.

They are the familiar faces customers know at school events, local businesses, ballgames, community fundraisers, and around town. The relationships built here do not stop at the branch doors, and that is part of what makes community banking so meaningful.

This month, we’re celebrating the team members marking work anniversaries at Kentland Bank and recognizing the care, consistency, and connection they bring to both their work and their communities.

Thank you for continuing to make Kentland Bank feel personal, welcoming, and rooted in the people we serve.

As Memorial Day approaches, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

All Kentland Bank branches will be closed on Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day. We are grateful for the sacrifices made for our freedom and wish everyone a safe holiday weekend.

Service looks different these days for Josh Koch.

After serving in the Army, Josh continues serving through his work, his community involvement, and the relationships he builds every day here in Northwest Indiana.

What stood out most to us while creating this piece was not just Josh’s military experience. It was the way he talks about people, connection, and showing up for others when they need it most.

As we head into Memorial Day, we are proud to share his story and honor those who continue serving their communities long after the uniform comes off.

Watch Josh’s story below.

Spring cleaning is a great time to protect your personal information. Shredding old documents with sensitive information is one important way to help keep your data secure.

Join us for Spring Shred Day on Saturday, May 9 from 8:00 am to 12:00pm in our Kentland Bank Rensselaer parking lot at 480 S. College Avenue.

This community event is open to the public and offers secure, professional on site shredding.

We appreciate the Greater Rensselaer Chamber of Commerce for helping make this event possible.

Don’t forget to drop off your shredding boxes tomorrow between 8 and 12. And thank our sponsors for helping us bring the SecureShred truck from Opportunity Enterprises in Valparaiso to Rensselaer! Since 1967, O E has been working toward a future where individuals with disabilities and their families have complete access to the communities, programs, and services they need to live well.

The longer you are part of a community, the more familiar the faces become.

You see the same customers walk through the door. You celebrate milestones together. You get to know families, businesses, and stories over time.

That is why work anniversaries matter so much to us.

This month, we are celebrating the team members who continue to make Kentland Bank feel personal, welcoming, and rooted in the communities we serve. Thank you for all you do!

Fraud prevention starts with staying informed.

Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday’s fraud seminar hosted by Kentland Bank, DeMotte State Bank and the Newton County Sheriff's Office at the Newton County Government Center in Morocco. We appreciated the opportunity to share important information about current scams, fraud trends, and ways to help protect yourself and your finances.

We are also sharing the full seminar video so more members of our community can benefit from the information discussed. The seminar referenced this CBS 60 Minutes segment during the presentation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2r1MJk85Zo

If you would like a copy of the information folder handed out during the event, please contact your local Kentland Bank branch and we will make sure one is available for you.

Thank you again to everyone who attended and helped make this event a success.
