What a special experience at the WSU Cougars football game this weekend! I was proud to join Premera Blue Cross on the field to help present Washington State University with a $5,000 donation supporting mental health awareness.

Mental health is such an important part of overall well-being, and I love seeing organizations like Premera invest in programs that help create awareness, open conversations, and support students when they need it most.

There’s something pretty special about watching a donation like this happen right in the middle of a packed stadium surrounded by the Cougar community. 🐾

Thank you, Premera Blue Cross, for your continued commitment to making a difference—and for letting us be part of such a meaningful moment!

Highstreet Insurance & Financial Services - Kennewick was proud to sponsor Mid-Columbia Meals on Wheels annual OktoberFeast 5K!

Between the lederhosen, festive hats, pretzels, snacks, and plenty of German-inspired fun, we had an absolute blast cheering on participants and being part of such a wonderful community event!

My latest work trip took me to Washington, D.C. for a conference, and since it was my first time there, I had to squeeze in a little sightseeing!

We spent an afternoon exploring a couple of museums and then ended the day with an evening tour of the national monuments. There’s something pretty incredible about seeing these places in person, especially lit up at night.

A busy work trip, but definitely made some great memories along the way!

Had the opportunity this week to celebrate our Q4 successes and do a little team building with the Kennewick team. I’m so appreciative of these ladies! The way they show up and support the goals of our department deserves some recognition.

Supporting Generational Care is deeply personal for me. When my mom was battling cancer, she relied on their services even though she wasn’t a senior. As a young mom and caregiver, those meals didn’t just support my mom — they also helped feed my daughter, who spent her days with her grandma during that time.

Mid-Columbia Meals on Wheels is not just for the elderly. It’s for anyone who needs nourishment, support, and a caring face at the door. Sometimes these volunteers are the only people a client may see in a day, and that connection means more than we often realize. They show up when family members simply can’t.

I’m grateful not just as a supporter, but as someone whose family was directly touched by the compassion of this organization. It’s an honor to serve a client who makes such a meaningful impact in the lives of so many. ❤️

Today I had the honor of attending the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Live Your Best Life fundraising lunch — an organization that holds a very special place in my heart.

Ten years ago today, my mom was in their hospice house receiving end-of-life care. I was a single mom, juggling caring for her, handling her housing and belongings, raising my young daughter, and trying to prove myself in a brand-new job. In one of the most overwhelming moments of my life, Tri-Cities Chaplaincy stepped in with compassion, dignity, and unwavering support.

Today, they talked about why and how they “Just Say Yes,” and it reminded me exactly what that meant for my family. They cared for my mom with kindness. They held her hand when I couldn’t. They brought in movies from their own collections so she’d have something comforting to watch. And when the time came, they wrapped our family in love and support that we still carry with us.

At their hospice house, everyone enters through the front door — and everyone leaves through the front door — with honor and respect. We received hugs, handmade teddy bears and blankets from volunteers, and prayers from their chaplain. These gestures may seem small, but to us, they meant everything.

I will forever be grateful for the beautiful souls at Tri-Cities Chaplaincy and the work they do for our community. Their compassion truly changes lives. ❤️

Today, I just want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to all the men and women who have served our country. Your courage, sacrifice, and dedication allow us to live with the freedoms we so often take for granted.

I’m especially thankful for the veterans in my own life — family, friends, and colleagues — who have worn the uniform and carried the weight of service with such pride and humility. Your stories, strength, and quiet leadership continue to inspire me.

To all who have served and those still serving — thank you. We honor you today and every day.

This is one of my favorite events to attend every year. Not only does Mid-Columbia Meals on Wheels provide amazing services for seniors in our community but they also know how to throw a FUN event!
