Now time to talk about the personal heavy lifting…

No one prepares you for how hard it is to move out of the home you shared with your child after they die.

The other night, I found myself sitting in a closet, completely overwhelmed and unable to move forward. Over the years, we’ve donated many of Billy’s things, but there is still so much left.

Every item brings the same question: Do I keep this, or do I let it go?

The weight of that decision is hard to explain. Every answer feels like it carries a piece of him with it—as if keeping it helps me hold onto him, and letting it go means losing a little more of him.
