Congratulations to Ben, a co-leader of IMB!

Good news from the Class of 2017: Ben Galkiewicz was named a Community All-Star by Independent Health and Business First. The annual program recognizes students who are of good character, embrace diversity, and have made a difference through community service.

And today, he accepted an award from the Kenmore Rotary Club for "Service above Self".

As a member of our Faith Service Community, Ben has traveled to Bethlehem Farm, WV and Camden, NJ on cultural immersion trips, and is a member of Lasallian Youth, traveling weekly to outreach centers for those in need. Working with a small number of other St. Joe’s students, he assists in the management of a microloan program that offers small, targeted loans for business creation or expansion in the city. This fall, he also served as a captain of the soccer team. In addition to all of this – he has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

Ben will be attending Canisius College in the fall with plans to study Psychology and Social Work. Congratulations to Ben – and we have no doubt he will continue to make an impact in our community.
