Scammers often target older adults by building trust, creating urgency and pressuring them to keep requests secret. Check in with your parents, grandparents and other loved ones, and remind them to watch for:
• A new “friend” asking for money
• Requests to purchase gift cards or cryptocurrency
• Unexpected calls asking for account information
• Pressure to act immediately or keep the situation secret

If you get a call like this, hang up. It's a scam.
Fraudsters are pretending to be banks so people will install apps that give them control of their phone and access to their money. Your financial institution will never call and ask you to download anything. If something feels off, hang up and call your local branch at a number you know is real.
