Ricky Maique - State Farm Insurance Agent We make insurance and finances simple. As a New Orleans native who had the opportunity to attend college out of state, I moved to Tennessee in 2002.

During my days on Rocky Top, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of Tennessee, met my wife of 17 years, and began my career in the insurance industry. I decided to move to Houston in 2013 to help more customers in more ways as a State Farm agent. At our agency, we view insurance as more than just a product. It's our passion. Our goal is to help our customers protect what they have and save for their future. With a home, business, and three kids attending school here in Katy, we couldn't be more proud to call this community home. When I'm not helping our customers with their insurance and financial services needs, you can find me playing tennis at Club Westside in Houston, coaching one of our kids at i9sports.com, leading a FREE men's workout at F3Katy.com, or serving in some capacity at our local church, Kingsland.org. We're also passionate about giving back to our community that's given so much to us. That's why we're proud to support Christ Clinic, Katy Christian Ministries, CRU, Homes of Love, The Ballard House, The Hangar, Houston Food Bank, and Marine Toys for Tots to name a few. Leading an active lifestyle sure builds up an appetite. This is especially true for a foodie living in Houston. So don't be surprised if you see our wrapped vehicle with a KHAKIS license plate parked outside one of Katy's newest diners, drive-ins, or dives. Quick update on our new office pup… who apparently decided her first month on the job needed a little excitement. 🐶🐍

Tonight our 3mo old Golden Retriever was bitten on the snout by a venomous copperhead snake. Within about 10 minutes, her face was swelling and she was acting noticeably different, so off to the emergency vet we went.

Thankfully, Howdy is in great hands and getting the treatment she needs. ❤️

The irony? This is our FOURTH trip to a vet in the last month.

🐾 Two routine vet checkups
🐾 One emergency visit after our cat was hit by a car
🐾 And now… a copperhead bite and a $1,574.48 ER bill for Howdy.

As an insurance agent, I spend every day talking about protecting families from the unexpected. Apparently Howdy wanted to remind me that the four-legged members of the family can have some pretty expensive “unexpected” moments too. 😂

And yes…our State Farm office offers pet insurance. After the month we’ve had, I may be the easiest person in Katy to talk to about why pet insurance is worth considering. 😂

Most importantly, our little Howdy is being taken care of tonight. Please send Howdy some love and prayers for a quick recovery! 🐶❤️
